Uri has represented Fortune 500 companies, mid-sized companies, and entrepreneurs in all manner of commercial litigation including contract disputes, shareholder freeze-outs, real estate disputes, trade secret and non-compete disputes, class action defense, and insurance recovery litigation. Highlights include a favorable multi-million dollar arbitration verdict in a contract dispute between multi-national pharmaceutical companies, a favorable multi-million dollar settlement in a closely held company shareholder freeze-out dispute, and a favorable arbitration verdict on behalf of an attorney related to the dissolution of a law firm.

Higher Education Law

As former chief in-house litigation counsel to a major public university Uri has deep experience with the broad array of legal issues such institutions face including disputes under Title IX, FERPA, and FOIA, as well as employment and contract disputes in the higher education context. Highlights include overseeing the successful defense of class action suits challenging covid-related remote learning policies and vaccine directives and obtaining the denial of a preliminary injunction sought to prevent the elimination of sports teams under Title IX.

Employment Law

Uri has significant experience litigating employment disputes from both the plaintiff and defense side, including contract disputes, discrimination claims, non-competes, and whistleblower claims. Highlights include successfully negotiating favorable severance packages for an entire team of employees after the private equity takeover of a division of a pharmaceutical company and securing the dismissal of numerous discrimination claims both on the pleadings and on summary judgment.

Civil Rights Law

Uri cut his litigation teeth defending civil rights claims in New York City. Since then he has handled numerous civil rights claims on behalf of plaintiffs as well, including police misconduct claims. His experience handling civil rights claims on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants allows him to obtain the best possible resolution on behalf of his clients.
